Howard Landry Obituary

Howard J. Landry, 87, a resident of Lafayette, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at Maison de Lafayette Nursing Home.
A Memorial Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church at 720 Talbot Avenue in Thibodaux.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of Lafayette; son, Randall Landry and wife, Monica, of Lafayette; daughter, Traci Huey and husband, Scott, of Lafayette; sister, Ruth Ann Murphey, of Lafayette; grandson, R.T. Landry, of Honolulu, Hawaii; and three step-grandsons, Andre, Rodrigo and Danny Thierry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Beulah Landry.
Howard graduated from Hanson Memorial High School in Franklin in 1945. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a mechanic on the B-29 Superfortress Bomber. He retired with Sun Oil Company after more than 35 years of service. He was devoted to his church and Catholic faith, serving as an usher and Eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus. He loved family, food, fun and fishing.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in his name be made to: Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 720 Talbot Ave., Thibodaux, LA 70301.
