My heart goes out to Mrs. Gretchen, the children, grandchildren and rest of the Clune family. Mr. John was a wonderful kind man with a quick wit and friendly spirit. He was a great supporter of his family, friends, and community. He will be missed. For those of us who knew and respected him will treasure the gifts of example he left behind in each of our hearts. May he rest in peace.

Dear Clune family, I am so sorry for your great loss, as I know how much your father meant to all of you. I wish I were in the USA so I could come to the funeral to express my condolences in person, but know that you are in my thoughts.

Truly a great man has reached his eternal goal. A friend to so many and the ultimate soldier. I know heaven has welcomed a new soul and he is probably running around heaven with his great smile looking for people to shoot a few hoops !! To Gretchen, kids, and grandkids he loved you all so much.

My heart, love, prayers and sympathy goes out to John's family. I met John and Gretchen many years ago when he and my husband Henry "Smitty" Smith worked together for all those years at J. Ray McDermott in Amelia. John was a kind man and a real character. You rest peacefully in God's arms, John.
May our Lord Bless and Comfort you and yours, Gretchen. Love from me and my family. ❤❤

We had the honor of working with John for many years at United Way, and were privileged to have him as a volunteer who worked on behalf of senior citizens. He was always full of life, loved to tease all those he cared for, and we'll miss him terribly. He was certainly loved and there are still plenty of folks who still ask us where the old guy is when we're out working for United Way. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family, and we hope they all know he'll never be forgotten.
