John Verdin Obituary
John Norris Verdin, 59, a native and resident of Houma, died at 1:47 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2011.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time today at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Mauldin of Houma; his mother, Mary Verdin of Houma; four sons, Shannon Mauldin and companion, Brandi Hatch of Houma, John Verdin III and wife, Tammy, of Chauvin, Frankie Mauldin and wife, Leeann, of Houma and Johnny Mauldin and companion, Brandi Dean, of Houma; five daughters, Cindy Lyons and husband, Johnny, of Bourg, Bridget Mauldin and companion, Dudley Chaisson, of Houma, Stacy Khalil and husband, Ashraf "Mike", of Houma, Peggy McLaufghin of Mississippi, and Tina Bernard of Arkansas; two brothers, Ernest J. Verdin Sr. and wife, Virginia, of Houma and Paul Verdin Sr. and companion, Josephine Dion, of Houma; one sister, Cathy Verdin and fiance, Joseph Floyd Foret Jr. of Houma; and 19 grandchildren, Joshua, Michaela, Frankie Jr., Chasidy, Johnny Jr., Branden, Angelle', Brandon, Annika, Larin, Bethany, Kinsley, Justin, Alexis, Dakota, Jerry, Raishe', Asia, and David Jr.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Norris Verdin Sr. of Houma; and one sister, Mary Alice Parfait.
He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a loving family man who loved his family, children and grandchildren.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Johnny passing. I always enjoyed talking to him when I would see him. He was a kind man with a kind heart. He will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace, Mr. Johnny!

To a loving man that always had a big heart and always had a smile on his face.He would wave to every one he saw no matter who you were. He was the kind of person if you knew him that could make you laugh. He will be grately missed by all that knew him and to his family his smiles and laugther be with you always.
