Mr. Rhodes was a good man. He was also very generous as well. Before I got married he offered my future wife and I a very nice house in the Florida Keys for us to honeymoon as our wedding gift. We were very excited and accepted his gift. We had a wonderful time and made some fun memories. The home was very nice. Our sincere condolences on your loss.

Norval was a great friend to my dad, Lloyd "Rock" Rhodes, and me. My dad helped him build his "camp" in Florida, and I built many things for him here in Houma. He returned the favors with legal advice and guidance. He always had a smile and a story for me and I will miss him dearly. My condolences to his family.

Norval is a cousin that I met briefly in my teenage years . His mother was a Gaston , as I am also . Norval enjoyed speaking about his roots and relatives from Montegut when I met him . I was always proud that we had an attorney in the family and I am so glad that I expressed that statement to him. I will never forget Norval because in just a brief meeting he spoke positive and uplifting words , of which , I was not a custom to . Norval asked me what my plans were after I graduated from high school . I told him that I wanted to travel everywhere . He was the first person that told me that I could accomplish anything that I wanted to do in life and all it took was determination and to never give up . I walked away that day with confidence & detemination and I must say I have traveled and lived in so many big cities since I graduated from high school and still traveling . Norval made me feel that I could conquer the world . Rest In Peace Cuz ! And thank you for making a very young and broken girl just starting out in life have self esteem and belief in herself when she needed your words of wisdom and encouragement . Your Cousin, Brendy Gaston Blair
