Richard Trahan Obituary

Richard Joseph Trahan, 53, died Jan. 25, 2017 at 10:05 a.m. He was a native and a resident of Chauvin, LA.

Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, from 9 a.m. until funeral time at St. Joseph Catholic Church; with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Richard is survived by his wife of 12 years, Kathleen Sue Grosser Trahan; son, Joshua P. Trahan and fiancé, Samantha; daughters, Jessica T. Foret and husband, Tony, and Joni L. Trahan; father, Houston Joseph Trahan; brothers, Gene J. Trahan and wife, Judy, Ricky J. Trahan and wife, Patty, Mike J. Trahan and wife, Tina, and Mark J. Trahan; sisters, Judy Ann Luke and husband, Alvin, and Rebecca L. Trahan; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mayola Rodrigue Trahan; and brother, George J. Trahan.

Richard was a commercial fisherman. He enjoyed being on the water, shrimping, crabbing, fishing, boiling seafood and cleaning fish for charter fisherman.

Richard loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Im so sorry to see Richards passing. Richard never met a stranger, and was a good friend to all who knew him. No one could out crab this man, plus he delivered to my dock. You will be missed.
