Rita Olivier Guidry
Houma - Rita Olivier Guidry, a native and resident of Houma, passed away on June 9, 2021. She was 69 years old. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She worked as a postal carrier for many years, but her most important role was that of family matriarch, where she made sure that all milestones and events were celebrated in a special way. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she was never happier than when her family was all together.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 16, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Memorial services will immediately follow the visitation. Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Rita is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald Guidry; her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Guidry (Eric Abreo), Rena Guidry, Gina Foster (Richard), Gerri Garwood (Ben), and Heidi Klever (Michiel); her grandchildren, Sebastian Armit (Rachel), Celina Armit (Adam Terry), Samantha Boquet (Joey); Richard Foster II, Donavan Foster, Gabrielle Foster, Jonathan Garwood, and Tristen Lopez; her great-grandchildren, Coraline Terry, Jules Breaux, Stefen Boquet, Isabella Boquet, and Anastasia Boquet; her brother, Dennis Olivier (Paula); her sister, Penne Dornan (Mike); her sisters-in-law, Jackie Percle Olivier and Cindy Guidry Ray; her brother-in-law, Russell Marie; and numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gillis and Louise (Vidal) Olivier, Sr.; her sisters, Brenda Olivier, Joy Marie, and Sandra Olivier; her brother, Gillis Olivier, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Kelly Guidry.
Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Rita Guidry.

Mrs. Rita will be missed by all who knew her. She was a light of love God granted us! She and my Momma had such a beautiful friendship! They were a force to be reckoned with when it came to board games. Mrs. Rita had such a big beautiful heart! I never heard an unkind word cross her lips.Only positive encouraging word! You leave behind a beautiful legacy of love starting with your beautiful girls that has continue thru to you grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rest in peace Ms Rita.
