Robert Klingman Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Charles Klingman Sr., 86, a native and resident of Houma, died at 11:53 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday with the Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Fanguy Klingman; sons, Kregg Paul Klingman and wife, Ginny, of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Deacon Robert Charles Klingman Jr, and wife, Susan, of Broussard; grandchildren, Kevin Klingman and wife, Brandy, of Denham Springs, Kelly Klingman Feathers and husband, Matthew, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Katie Klingman Phillips, of Kingsport, Tennessee; and great-grandchildren, Maddux Fleming, Presley Phillips, Khloe Klingman, Kollette Klingman and Hudson Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Irving Klingman and Anastacia Hobert Klingman; and in-laws, Paul and Blanche Fanguy.
Bobby was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. He was an area manager for the oilfield service company Wilson Downhole, later Baker Hughes. He served in the U.S. Army in the Occupational Forces in Germany. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 4752 and the American Legion.
Bobby was an outdoorsman, an avid fisherman, and loved spending time at his camp. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Ray Cinnater and Bobby's caregiver, Darlene Brennan, and the loving support of Skipper and Debbie Picou.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to: St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 568, Houma, LA 70360.
