Thomas Melancon Obituary
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
He is survived by his nephew, Brent J. Melancon; nieces, Jennifer M. Naquin and husband, Clint, Brandi M. Bernard and husband, Taylor, and Crystal and Claire Melancon; grand-nieces, Jolie and Emmi Naquin; and sister-in-law, Kathleen H. Melancon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zenon J. "Moon" Melancon and Marie Stella "Myra" Webre Melancon; and brothers, Harold C. "Moon" Melancon and John P. "Pat" Melancon.
Tommy worked many years farming sugar cane alongside his father and brother, Pat. He enjoyed his life at home where he spent most of his time listening to rock and roll music and watching classic movies.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to his family and friends as well as the ER staff at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and Journey Hospice who provided compassion and support to Tommy and his family at the end of his life.
Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
