ADA EDWARDS Obituary

-->ADA JENSEN EDWARDS, 86, slipped through her earthly moorings on December 22, 2009, in pursuit of another adventure for which she had been preparing all of her life.Born in Jensen, Utah and raised on a Herford cattle ranch in Northwestern Colorado, Ada began riding horseback before she was school age and developed a great love of nature. She pursued all outdoor sports and had a life long passion for fly-fishing. Ada was a natural musician and played the guitar, bass, piano, saxophone, clarinet, accordion and harmonica. At the age of 12 she joined a group of older musicians and played the one-room schoolhouses and community centers in her home area. She continued playing music, danced and sang whenever the opportunity arose through her entire life.Ada loved to fly and at an early age became one of the first women pilots licensed in Utah. She became a flight instructor and enjoyed the rank of 2nd Lt. in the Civil Air Patrol. She married Robert Edwards in Vernal, Utah in 1947 and they shared a career together working in the oil and gas industry. Their life was exciting, at times extravagant and always lots of fun as they traveled around the globe. Ada had a grand passion for music, dancing, people, parties and travel. She lived her life with great gusto.Ada was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, Mimi and friend. Courageous and unselfish, there was nothing she could not do. We will miss her dearly. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter Debra Edwards and her two sons, Derek Rodgers and wife Sarah of Houston and Ryan Rodgers of Denver, a son Tommy Edwards and his wife Kristene, their children Sydney and Jake of Spicewood, Texas. Ada was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert M. Edwards. In honor of her last wishes there will be neither funeral nor memorial service. Her ashes will be spread over the magnificent mountains of her youth near Buford, Colorado above our old cow camp on Ripple Creek.

Tommy,

Just wanted to let you know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know how hard it is to lose a mother. Your memories will help get you through. John and Bill always talked so highly of your mother and father. Take care, Love Linda
