Alexander Ellis Obituary

Alexander Greyson Ellis
09/30/1988 - 08/14/2025
Alexander Greyson Ellis --Taken Too Soon
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alexander Greyson Ellis, who was taken from us far too soon. Alexander lived a life filled with warmth, love, and an infectious energy that touched everyone who knew him.
Known affectionately as Zan, Zander, and Zanman, Alexander possessed a heart of gold and brought joy to every family gathering. His love for his family, especially his niece and nephew, was immeasurable. An energetic spirit from childhood, Alexander excelled in sports, especially soccer, throughout his life, from his early days at West U Elementary through Lamar High School, and continuing with club sports before his time at Ole Miss.
Alexander was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents: Papou and YiaYia Connie and Jeri Pontikes, and Poppy and Nana, Carl and Tommie Ellis.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Debbie Pontikes Ellis and Larry Ellis (wife Rose Ann); his brother Tyler Ellis and sister-in-law Lindsey, along with his cherished niece and nephew, Annabel and Beau; and his sister Mary Caroline Ellis. Alexander is also survived by his loving extended family: Aunt and Uncle Kathe and Jim Enlow and their children Hunter Enlow and Katie Enlow Grant (husband Allen) and their children Collins, Parker and baby Hayes; Aunt and Uncle Andy and Kate Pontikes and their sons Pierce (wife Hannah), Karsten, and Drew; Aunt and Uncle, Betty and Tom Foreman, and their children, Luke and Courtney (husband Ubaldo); Aunt Janet Ellis Tywater and her children Amanda and Garrett; and numerous other relatives who held him dear.
Alexander's memory will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. As his family often told him, we love you "to the Moon and Back."
In lieu of flowers, the family heartfully requests that donations be made to Archway Academy or your charity of choice, in Alexander's memory. To post a tribute to the family, please visit www.woodlawnfh.com. Alexander's warmth, love, and golden heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
