Alyne Randolph-Foster Obituary

ALYNE RANDOLPH-FOSTER, age 72, of San Marcos, TX passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2007. She passed away peacefully, at home, in her bed after enduring years of critical illness, maintaining her intelligence and her sense of humor to the last. She was born August 2, 1934, in San Antonio, TX to Ellis C. Randolph and Evelyn (Baxter) Randolph. She graduated high school at the age of 16 with nothing but A's but elected to pursue the profession of homemaker rather than an academic career. She was many things to many people: daughter, wife, mother, sister, thespian, artist, teacher, insurance agent, real estate agent, environmentalist, secretary, truth seeker, and friend, but she never quenched her thirst for knowledge and higher learning/education. She will be remembered as an active and devoted member of Unity Church of San Marcos, where she ministered and served on the Board of Trustees. She is preceded in death by her parents; her uncle, Bart (Doc) Randolph, Rockport, TX and her husband, Joe Foster, from Houston, TX Left behind to treasure her memories are her daughter, Donna Carlisle Sandlin and her husband Stanley of Cooper, TX; son, Leland Ellis Fields, World Traveler; grandchildren Brian Carlisle, San Marcos, TX; Amy Carlisle, Dallas, TX; Thomas and Terry Sandlin, Austin, TX; Stacey Sandlin Anthony and husband, Tyler, Flower Mound, TX; Grady Sandlin and wife, Jessie Duke Sandlin, Denton, TX; brother Robert R. Randolph and wife, Margaret Lloyd, Houston, TX; nephews Cean Randolph and wife, Lisa Thompson Randolph, Olympia, WA; Grayson Randolph and wife, Sarah, Dallas, TX; Justin Randolph, Houston, TX; and friends, everywhere! Alyne will be dearly missed. A memorial Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Unity Church of San Marcos, 16870 N. State Hwy 123, San Marcos, TX. 512-392-5199. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Unity Church of San Marcos.

Alyne was the best mother-in-law a girl could hope for. She always found the good in everyone, even when no one else could. She gave of herself selflessly and unconditionally to her family and friends. She never passed up an opportunity to grow spirtually and expand her mind, despite her physical limitation. I will greatly miss her amusing stories and quick wit. I am a much better person for having known her.
Her grand-dog, Taffy brought her much pleasure and amusement. God needed a new angel to watch after the critters, so he called her home. She had a kinship with all animals, and I will make a donation to Save the Tigers Fund in her memory, with my employer, ExxonMobil, matching the donation. Fly high little bird, with God beneath your wings, Taffy and I will see you on the other side.
