Andrew Miles Obituary

Andrew R. Miles
1966-2021
Andrew R. Miles, 55, entered into eternal rest on August 12, 2021. Born in Oceanside, NY on January 3, 1966, he was the son of Richard J. Miles and the late Karen M. Forte. As a youth he was active in scouts, swimming, lifeguarding, and football. He graduated from Marlboro Central High School in 1984 and earned a bachelor's degree of Mechanical Engineering at the State University of New York Maritime College in 1988. Andrew was the captain of his college football team demonstrating early in life his ability to be a team leader. He later attended Rice University's Jones Graduate School of Business, earning an MBA in 1999. There he was presented the "M.A. Mike Wright Award" for leadership and service, the highest honor given at the school. For over 30 years Andrew had a successful career in various engineering and management positions, primarily in the energy industry. He was an extremely gifted leader and had the unique ability to build people up and help them reach their highest potential. He mentored many young engineers who flourished under his guidance and dedication over the years.
Andrew married Trinh Nguyen (Miles) on June 29, 2013, in Houston, TX. They have two incredible children Joshua and Evelyn, who along with Trinh were the pride and joy of his life. He always beamed with such love whenever he spoke of them. Andrew was the kind of person who would light up any room he walked into with his positive uplifting spirit. His infectious smile and sense of humor were legendary and paired well with his gentle nature and enthusiasm for life. He loved spending time with family and friends which were always treasured moments for him. He loved to listen to music and had the unique ability to recall all the lyrics to any song, or the lines to any movie from his youth which provided us with many laughs. The New York Yankees were his favorite team, and he could talk about them for days. Andrew loved to hunt turkey and was an active member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He enjoyed the outdoors and being one with nature.
Andrew was a man who consistently made his family and friends his priority, always lending his love, support, and encouragement. His faith and love for Jesus Christ were the cornerstone of his life's foundation. He deeply impacted many people, leaving behind a legacy of camaraderie, laughter, and heartfelt memories.
A poem written by Andrew:
Life is a series of chapters.
Each of us has our own novel.
Some finished, some still being written,
All reside in His vast library.
My chapters are many and full.
All recorded for eternity.
The Lord is a masterful author,
His own novel, a masterpiece in the making.
When the pages someday end, as in all great novels do,
The interwoven chapters will be cherished by many,
Each having a favorite chapter to revisit.
I will read his novel over and over.
Andrew was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his wife Trinh, and two children Joshua and Evelyn of Houston, TX; his father Richard of Ocala, FL; his sister Laurel Murphy and her husband Douglas and daughter Jessica of Wappingers Falls, NY. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date to celebrate a life well lived. Memorial donations in support of Andrew's children may be made to the Joshua and Evelyn Miles Scholarship Fund at www.lynchburgnaz.com/donate.

Dearest Trinh, Josh, Evelyn,

We pray for God's mercy for Andrew every night. We believe he is there with Jesus in Heaven. When we look towards your home, we see the white Chevy pick up and the American Flag. We saw Josh proudly and carefully bring in the Flag one day. Both of you, Josh and Evelyn, will grow to be outstanding American citizens because you will follow in the footsteps of your wonderful Father and mother.

May the peace of Christ be with you,
Love you, Raymond and Lupe

I am so sorry for Andrew's family and their loss. We truly enjoyed Andrew so much as the new COO at our company RPM. He was so nice to all and a great leader to all the employees. We all have very good memories of him. Yes, he liked to speak of his lovely wife and his children! And turkey hunting! Receive your eternal reward Andrew Miles.
