Grace Bonnett Obituary

ATCHISON - Grace Fern Bonnett, 52, Atchison, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at her residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison. Burial will be at Nortonville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses. Mrs. Bonnett was born Sept. 28, 1951, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of William and Dorcill Marie (Ross) Phillips. She married William Junior Bonnett in 1970 in Atchison. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1980. Together they owned a farm near Effingham. She moved to Atchison in 1982 also spending time in Colorado and Oklahoma. She was a member of the United Brethren in Christ Church in Leavenworth. She raised five children and had a wonderful talent as a decorator. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Survivors include her son, William Bonnett and his wife, Sheryl, of Atchison; daughters Sherr y Dishong and her husband, Ron, of Atchison; Brenda Bonnett, of Kansas City, Mo.; Tammy Bonnett, of Topeka,; and Samantha Butler and her husband, Jesha, of Kansas City, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; one great- grandchild; brothers Tim Phillips and Brian Phillips ; and a sister, Bobbie Shoemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison.

Grace was such a wonderful lady. I worked for her in her home when she lived in Topeka a few years ago.I was shocked to see that she had passed away. She was loved by many.
