Dear Laura and David,

It seems like it was just yesterday when we all went to Cancun. Those memories and others like them is how your mom should be remembered. You two are all

Sissy could talk about- she loved you so much!!

To her family:

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I admired Sissy so much- she was the perfect lady! Beautiful, smart, loving... many things we can all aspire to be.

Love to all,

Nancy Gresham

For Laura and David:

I met your mom through Radar when he was going for a walk with Phoenix; I live in the neighborhood and was sitting outside with my granddaughter's dog. Then I met Barbara on one of her walks with Radar. We would sit on the front porch steps and visit.

She always told me how much she loved you, and missed you. For me, your mom was loving and caring, especially for the two of you.

I will miss her visits.

I was so saddened to learn of Sissy's passing. We spend medical school practically attached to each other. We would spend entire weekends in her "mouse house" where we would study, laugh and share secrets and life. She always made this weird salad dressing with anchovy paste. It doesn't even sound good now but it was delicious and I have never been able to replicate it. Although, to be fair, few people could compete with Sissy in the kitchen. Later we would get together to study when she lived in "the tower." There we continued our studies with solving world problems... or so it seemed at the time. Apparently it was a temporary fix.

Sissy and I remained close at heart although our lives took us in different and hectic directions. It is my great sorrow that I did not see her more in recent years. Sissy had the gift of affirmation. She could make anyone a better person. She noticed even the smallest effort and would fix you with her vibrant eyes and say, "You're so good." It was simple but she said it from her heart and it made you want to be better and continue to try to do good.

A special condolence to David and Laura. She felt so blessed by you and she loved you tremendously. She was a loving and wonderful person whose light now shines in the sky.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Sissy's death. I had the good fortune of being her 'Blind Date' at a Christmas party in 1972. I learned she was focused, determined and empathetic. She must have been a great doctor. She always had a smile and something nice to say. Though I last saw Sissy many years ago, I can still hear her laugh.

My thoughts are with her family who must miss her terribly.

My heart felt sympathies go to one of my dearest friends, Harris Masterson; and his family; Catherine, Harris, Haden and (my god son)Wills.

I became best friends with Harris in 6th grade, back in 1969. And to his credit, we remain close today...despite 30 years and 3,500 miles apart.

Barbara, Phil, Haden, Douglas, Jennifer and Sissy were like a second family for me in those days. I wish them peace and my condolences as well.

Sissy was always funny and uplifting, yet sprinkled with "guts" and persistence. The challenge and fulfillment of her dream to become a doctor in her thirties has always been an inspiration to me.

Again, with heart felt sympathy to all of Sissy's family and friends,

Greg Ford
