Barbara Chapman Obituary

Chapman
Barbara Ellen Chapman passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12th at the home of family in Sugar Land.
She was born in Columbus, Missouri, May 2, 1957 to parents, Dr. Forrest Chapman Jr. and Virginia Hunter Chapman. Barbara spent the years of her youth in Sarasota, Florida. Known for her love and ease with horses and animals, Barbara showed a leaning to be a caregiver even then. She was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal Church, and sang in the choir at the Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota. Her beautiful alto voice was enjoyed by all. She graduated from Riverview High School in 1975. In 1978, she received her LVN and began a nursing career.
In the early eighties, Barbara moved to Houston. She married Sidney McNiece in January of 1984. Always enjoying nursing, Barbara returned to school and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in November of 1988 from Houston Baptist University. She had two sons, Sean and Matthew McNiece and was a devoted and loving mother. She worked at St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital in radiology. She was a faithful friend to those of her past and present. Her favorite hobbies included gardening and choir.
Barbara is survived by her son, Sean McNiece, mother and stepfather, Virginia C. Buckholtz and Eugene Buckholtz, her sister and brother in law, Cathy and Scott Valby, brother and sister in law, Forrest and Terese Chapman III, and sister, Beverly G. Chapman. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew H. McNiece, of Bellaire, TX, her father Dr. Forrest Chapman Jr., and brother Glen H. Chapman of Sarasota, FL. Numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and co-workers will miss Barbara's giving and devoted nature, but will treasure having loved and known her.
The family would like to thank A-Med Hospice, and Allied Health Services for the care given to Barbara. In liew of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Saturday, June 25th at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 4900 Jackwood St., Houston TX 77096 at 11:00 A.M. A reception in the Ingram room will follow.

I am so sorry for your loss your family has gone through. I met Barbara for just a fleeting moment with Sean but she left a lasting impression with me. Please believe me when I say your family has my heartfelt sympaty.
