Barbara Unrein Obituary

Unrein
Barbara Elaine Barry Unrein
After a determined and courageous battle with appendiceal cancer, we lost our beloved Barbara on September 4, 2011 in Cary, North Carolina where she has lived since March 2006.
Barb was born in Houston, Texas on July 23, 1953 to Fred and Grace Barry. She was in the first graduating class of Sharpstown High School and attended the University of Houston before working with her dad at Industrial Printers. Years later, she earned certification from SMU as a systems engineer and worked for Getronics in Houston until accepting an offer from Cisco Systems in North Carolina. Barb loved her life in NC and many good friends at Cisco.
Barb met her soulmate, C.T. (Terry) Unrein in Houston and they were married October 1, 1983. Barb and Terry enjoyed their years together. Theirs was a union of appreciating each other and sharing life's experiences, love, joy, and compassion. Ever since Barb's cancer was diagnosed in early 2008, Terry has been her "rock". Words cannot express the constant loving care he gave Barb through her long debilitating battle.
In sorrow our hearts are so very heavy with the loss of our beautiful, intelligent Barbara. We feel so blessed to have shared her life. Barb was at peace knowing God was with her. She is now united with her savior Jesus Christ, her dad Fred Barry, and will live in our hearts forever.
Barb is survived by her husband Terry Unrein, mother Grace Barry, sisters and brothers-in-law Cindy and Doug Roesler and Laura and Bob Beauchamp, niece Mikki Kalina, nephews Barry Roesler, and Jack, Tom, George, and Jim Beauchamp, great nephew Jeydan Kalina, and aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
The family will hold a private memorial gathering in Houston. A memorial service is being planned in North Carolina.

Barb was a truly wonderful sister-in-law who was always kind, encouraging, and generous. I will always treasure the brass-plated State of Texas spurs she gave to me one year for my birthday, when I was working with a number of spirited mustang horses. It was wonderful knowing her and she will be forever and fondly remembered.

Barb was the Mama Hen on the TAC. I loved this lady and she made work that more enjoyable. I am saddened to hear she has passed but I am glad she fought a good fight and is no longer suffering. RIP Barb!!
