Bert Lacy Obituary

BERT LEE LACY SR. Died September 4, 2003 at Christus St. Joseph Hospital. He was born in Beaumont, Texas to the late Ravella Ratcliff Lacy and Collis J. Lacy. He was a graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School and Texas Southern University. For many years he was a Boy Scout Master with the North Houston Cluster. His troop was headquartered at Burrus Elementary School. He was employed by the Houston Community College as an Adult Education Coordinator and retired from the Houston Independent School District.     He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Charlesetta Reddick Lacy and son Bert Lee Lacy, Jr. of Bloomfield, New Jersey; sister Ruthie Lee Blakes. Other surviving children are Russell Redell Lacy, Sandra Lacy and Gwen L. Lacy; niece, Phyllis Lacy, nephew David Blakes; cousins Calla Sue Chrisman and Maxine Wilson of San Diego, CA. Special nieces, Martha Williams Chiles, Dr. Susan Williams McElroy, Erica Nicole Chiles and Opal Denese McElroy of Dallas, Texas.      A memorial service will be held on September 9, 2003 at 11:00 A.M at South Park Funeral Home.
