Bert Swails Obituary
Bert Hugh Swails Sr., age 76, was born on July 31, 1935 in Monroe, La., and passed away peacefully on August 9, 2011 in Houston, Tx. He grew up in New Orleans and graduated from St. Martin's Episcopal H.S., where he earned 4 letters in football. Bert furthered his education with a Bachelor of Science degree from L.S.U. He was a marine insurance broker and enjoyed; hunting, the outdoors, movies, trees, and traveling. Bert was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura E. Swails. He is survived by his wife, Markey Swails; son, Bert Hugh Swails Jr. and wife Rocio; grandchildren, Fernando, Antoan, Gala, Amber and sister-in-law, Mary Pate and her son Brandon. Serving as pallbearers: Bert H. Swails Jr., Brandon Myers, Bruce Le Gros, Matthews Le Gros, David Gonzales and Jim Kidwell. Services were held on Saturday August,13th 2011.
