Billy Joe Carter

BILLY JOE CARTER, 69, passed away on June 15, 2002, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Bill was born January 13, 1933 in Dallas, Texas, the eldest son of Albert and Sarah Carter. He graduated from Denver City High School. Upon graduation, Bill immediately began work on his career in the industrial insulation business where he spent more than 50 years as an independent contractor working on projects both in the United States and overseas. He will be remembered for his unique approach to problem solving, his spirit of generosity, and his love of fishing. Bill will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Carter, sister, Lanelle Carter, brother, Gerald Carter and nephew, Dennis Carter. He is survived by his mother, Sarah and his sister, Carolyn Carter of Little Elm, Texas. He is also survived by Patricia Carter of Conroe, Texas; Brenda Lenard of Dallas, Texas; his children, W.L. "Tex" Carter and wife, Kay; Mike Carter and wife, Sheila; Mark Carter and wife, Lisa; Peggy Freeman and husband, Ellis; Charlie Carter and wife, Paige; Tim Carter and wife, Meredith; Casey Carter and wife, Veronica; and Candice Arthur and husband, Darrin. Grandchildren include, Celestin, John, Eric, Macarena, Michelle, Rita, Brandy, Larry, Sarah, Luke, Erin, Rose, Luke, Destiny, Victoria, Kris, Cathrine, Madison and Cole. Great-grandchildren include Jake, Joshua and Leilani. Special nieces and nephew; Beverly Jones, Brandie Carter and Nathan Burnett. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, loyal employees and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at 2 p.m. in Living Word Baptist Church, 2715 Hwy 720 West, Little Elm, Texas, phone (972) 292 2676, with Joseph T. "Buddy" Garland officiating. Interment will follow at the Little Elm Cemetery, Little Elm, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 18, 2002 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
