Bonnie Zarzana Obituary

BONNIE MARGUERITE PALAZZO ZARZANA went to be with our Lord on the 17th of February 2005. She was born the 30th of March 1912. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George Zarzana, her parents, John and Bessie Palazzo, sisters Nita Carrabba, Mary Carrabba Vento, and Rosie Carrabba. Bonnie was a pillar of strength and guiding light to her family. Her family was her life. She was always there with her love, support, and understanding. Always giving, and for herself, expecting noting in return. Thank you God for her, our precious mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The loves and joys of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Chrisie and Lee Samperi, Ann Marie and Ciro Joseph Samperi; Bonnie Marguerite and Dr. Kelly S. Oggero, Tina Ann, Leah Rose, and Jonathan Roy Oggero; Bessanne and John L. Maida Jr., John L Maida III and Vita Louise Maida. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Josephine Zarzana, many special and loving nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She was a former and active member of the Immaculate Conception Altar and Rosary Society, Caritas Club, Ladies and the San Leo Luca Club, Ladies of the Sacred Heart Club, and the Maria S.S. Del Balzo. Special thanks to Dr. Salimah Cumber, Judy Koumonduros, Margaret Furstenburg, Anne Hein, the entire staff at The Hampton at Post Oak, SCCI Hospital, The Voss Wood, and Odyssey Health Care. The family will receive friends on Sunday, the 20th of February, from one o'clock in the afternoon until eight o'clock in the evening. A rosary service will begin at seven o'clock. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at eleven o'clock in the morning on Monday, the 21st of February, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg, with The Rev. Roy Oggero as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will be held at the Catacombs, Garden of Gethsemani, at Forest Park Lawndale. Pallbearers: Lee E. Samperi, Dr. Kelly S. Oggero, John L. Maida Jr., and Ciro Joseph Samperi. Honorary Pallbearers: Joe C. Carrabba, John C. Carrabba, Joe L. Carrabba, Joe Matranga, Frank Piazza, Oscar Charles Sicola, Phillip Montalbano, Steve Tyrell, Carl A. Mattaliano III, Ron Jordan, Albert Zarzana, Albert J. Zarzana, Pete Chiara, Sammy Patrenella, and Joseph Carrabba.

Dear Vita and Roy, Your love and friendship is in my heart, Aunt Bonnie was the reason, she taught all who knew her the real meaning of God's love. She truly is in Heaven with the Angels.

We love you all. I will see you very soon Vita. I had an omen on Wed. and Thurs. which I hope to share with you very soon. Your children now have their Beloved Grandmother in Heaven watching over them. Our heartfelt sympathy and love and prayers.
