Brian Harlan Obituary

BRIAN LANGSTON HARLAN, age 20, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2006. Brian touched the lives of everyone around him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will be remembered for his sincere thoughtfulness of others and the true friendships he developed. Brian was a 2004 graduate of Cypress Creek High School and was a student at the University of Texas in Austin where he was active in student activities. He remained an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Community where he developed his strong bond with Christ and his lasting friendships through his activity in the Youth Ministry. Brian loved sports particularly cheering for the Texas Longhorns and joking with Aggie Friends. He liked to hunt and spent time with his family. Brian will be proudly remembered by his parents Larry and Nancy Harlan, sister Kendall Harlan, brothers Kyle and Jason Harlan, maternal grandfather Rolf Wustrau, paternal grandmother Violet Harlan, uncles Mike Wustrau, Steve Wustrau, Jim Linden, Kirk Rich, aunts Pat Linden, Cindy Rich, Rebecca Wustrau, Kay Harlan, Donna Harlan, and cousins Jessica Lagrone, Catherine and Phillip Linden, Blake Thomas, Karsyn Rich, Madison, Mia and Michael Wustrau. The family will receive friends from 5-9 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Klein Funeral Home Champion Forest. A Rosary will begin at 5:30 PM, with a Wake service at 7 PM. A celebration of Brian's life will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 State Hwy 249, Houston , Texas 77070. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to the Prince of Peace Youth Ministry. Brian, we will always love and we will never be apart in our hearts.

Dear Nancy, Larry and Family

We did not know about Brian's death until yesterday at Mass, when we offered the Mass for him. We are so sorry to hear of your great loss. I cannot believe we did not know until now, except my Mother passed away early last December so we were centering much on our family during that time. Losing a child is beyond comprehension for those of us who have not, but through our loss of my nephew Andrew, we have learned much about God's love and grace, in the face of grief. Even a life cut short, obviously affected so many people to their betterment. We will continue to pray for Brian and that God will heal the hearts of your family. I will let Holly know, and if any of us can be of any help at all, you have but to ask...

Sincerely

The Kellys

Larry and Nancy, Brian was blessed to have you as parents, know that! He was always such a joy to be near. He played with my kids and made us laugh many, many times. At this grief filled time we pray that the times of joy over shadow the tragic. We love you all, pray for peace and comfort.
