Brian Stephenson Obituary

Brian Patrick Stephenson
06/25/1965 - 11/09/2023
On Thursday, November 9, 2023, Brian Patrick Stephenson, loving spouse and parent of two children, passed on at the age of 58 in Houston, Texas. Brian was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February 2023, and fought courageously against the disease. His transition was made peacefully, at their home, surrounded by family.
Brian was born on June 25, 1965 in San Rafael, Marin County, California, to Anthony (Tony) and Mary Stephenson. The family moved to Houston, Texas in 1969. Brian attended Holy Ghost Catholic School, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory school, Sharpstown Senior High School and Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
On April 22, 1995, Brian married Ellen (Brzozowski) Jones, his partner since 1989, in Houston, Texas. They raised a daughter, Erica, and a son, Anthony.
Brian went on to have a successful 35-year career in the global mobility industry, working for Accurate Moving and Storage, Crown Relocations, and most recently Brian celebrated 19 years with Paramount Transportation Systems, serving as Vice President of Business Development. Brian's work was an extension of his character and love of people and always wanting to do the right thing for his customers. As described from the owners of Paramount, Brian's contributions were essential in the opening of the Houston branch. He was directly responsible for Paramount Houston's quick success and rapid growth. Brian's professionalism, enthusiasm, work ethic and strong and meaningful relationships with clients will never be forgotten.
Brian had a passion for music. The family home is filled with boxes of music cassettes, CDs, and racks of vinyl. Brian loved live music and sought it out. He was constantly attending live shows, no matter where in the country or even the world, bringing joy to his family and friends who got to relish in the experience with him.
Brian also had a passion for running and cycling. He loved spending time at Memorial Park. So much so that he became a fixture there, becoming friends with many of the runners. Brian and Ellen spent countless hours enjoying nature walks, particularly along the Eastern Glades.
Brian loved traveling the world and whenever he did so, he always made sure to stop over in England and Ireland where his parents are from and where his extended family still live. Brian always made time for frequent visits to his grandmother's house in Cobh, County Cork, Ireland which remains in the family for his wife and children to enjoy.
Brian was a truly kind and generous soul who loved his family, friends, and his career. He brought joy, laughter, and value to all who knew him.
Brian is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Ellen Ann Stephenson, his daughter, Erica Rae Stephenson, his son, Anthony Daniel Stephenson, his mother Mary Pauline Stephenson, his brother, Paul Gerard Stephenson, wife Suzanne and children Matthew and Sarah Stephenson, sister Fiona Stephenson Remko, and husband Steven Remko. He is preceded in death by his father, Anthony George Stephenson.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life for Brian. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Memorial Park Conservancy or to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Brian, I am so saddened by your passing. I will miss your UK visits. We used to have so much fun and laughed a lot. You always had so many stories to share.
You were always such an upbeat, positive person. There was always ' well it could be worse right'. Your high spirit and zest for life was contagious. Your love for your family and friends was endearing. I will truly miss supporting you and your determination to succeed in business.

My thoughts are with Ellen, your children and all your family.

Rest peacefully,
Lisa (PTS UK) x

Brian was truly one of a kind. He always greeted you with a big smile and hug. I can't tell you how much I will miss his wit, humor, and genuine lust for life. Doug and I have the BEST memories of dinner club, concerts, and so much more with Brian and Ellen. Brian made everything so much fun. Love to Ellen, Anthony, Erica, and entire family.

Brian was a Family friend for over 45 years. Sweet, dependable. honest. So many fun times and memories. He joined our Family for events and trips often. Here is a trip to a UT game in Austin when I was in college . Brian was probably 15 or so. Always a better day when Brian was there.

Brian was such fun. Caring , sweet, strong. Nothing but good thoughts and fun memories of vacations and events he shared with our Family. This photo was a visit he came on to see a UT game in Austin. He was probably 15 years old. Fun day.

Brian was a very special person and meant the world to me. He was warm, kind, had a great sense of humor and a presence about him. I knew he was strong but to see his courage and grace during this time was admirable. He never once complained and kept his sense of humor. My thoughts are with you Ellen, Erica, Anthony, Paul, Fiona & Mary; Brian knew he was loved. He will be missed dearly.

Brian was adored by all who were lucky enough to cross his path. When I think of my college days at SFA he was absolutely the center of it all. Whenever I saw him, he would always bring a smile to my face. Brian certainly had that gift.
He will be incredibly missed and will always be loved by so so many people. Sending love and so many prayers to dear Ellen and his children, and of course to Mary, Paul and Fiona. Brian will never be forgotten.

I don´t believe I have met too many people in my life who had a bigger heart and more importantly soul then Brian. His love for his family and friends was truly limitless and he was loved by all who was lucky enough to know him. I honestly don´t believe he ever met a stranger. It´s safe to say that Brian could talk to a wall and the wall would talk back. My prayers and condolences are with the entire Stephenson family.
