Bruce Hudson Obituary

BRUCE LEE HUDSON, age 57 passed away in Phoenix, Az on Wednesday March 10, 2004 after a 20 year battle with Huntington's disease. His parents, Carl C. Hudson in 1969 and Jewell K. Deans in 1998 and his sister, Deborah J Brown in 1982, preceded him in death. His is followed in death by his brother; Gregory C. Hudson who also suffered from Huntington's disease and died on Friday, March 12, 2004 in Phoenix. Bruce was married twice, but had no children. He is survived by his loving siblings, Sandy K. Faust, Nancy K. Foltz and Arnie L. Harris of Mesa, Az; his five nieces, Pam, Billie Ann, Ashley, Lindsay and Sarah; and his five nephews, Greg, Brett, David, Dylan and Jeff. He also had six grandnieces and seven grandnephews. He had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Bruce was born July 21st, 1946 in Great Bend, Ks. He served in the United States air force and lived for many years in Texas. He became a transplanted Texan and loved Houston and you could hear that Texan pride in his booming voice when he would tell someone that he was from "Houston, Texas!" Bruce loved to travel, hike, bike, sail and snow ski. He was very competitive and always played to win. His long battle with Huntington's was fought bravely and with dignity. To his loved ones he will always be the victor. Bruce was cremated and will reside with his family in Mesa, Az. until all will be able to join together and journey to Estes Park, Co. where his ashes will be spread and he will at last truly be free. Bruce made several trips to Estes Park and thought this was one of the most beautiful places in the world. His spirit will live forever in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him. The family has requested that if you desire to do something in Bruce's honor please contribute to the research for Huntington' s Disease Foundation.
