C.a. Younts Obituary

DR. C.A. YOUNTS JR., 93, one of the most involved and most beloved men in Humble, Texas went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 28, 2014. He was born November 17, 1920 in Temple, Texas. He was an amazing man with a terrific sense of humor.
He married his loving wife, Fayola, on June 25, 1942. They loved each other for 71 great years.
Dr. Younts served with the United States Army Air Corps from 1943-1946. He was stationed in the Pacific Theater on Bora Bora, among other islands.
After coming home to the U.S., Dr. Younts attended The University of Texas Dental College and he and Fayola moved to Humble in 1951. He established a dental practice there and was a highly respected dentist for 32 years. After retiring, he again worked as a dentist for Harris County Jail. He volunteered as "team dentist" for the Humble High School football team.
Dr. Younts was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for 63 years and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He received his 4th Degree February 1, 1962 and his 50 year pin in 2007.
He served on the Humble City Council from 1956-1964, 1975-1979, 1983-1985 and 1987- 1989. He served one year as City Judge. He was on the Humble School Board from 1967-1974. He also served on the Northeast Hospital Board of Authority. He was the first recipient of the Hayden Edward McKay Citizen of the Year Award in 1985.
Dr. Younts is survived by his wife, Fayola; his sons Tim and Todd, and Todd's fiancé, Gina; his daughter Tana Nelson; granddaughters, Amy Bookout and husband Caulder, Emily Payne and husband Brian, and Shelby Nelson; grandsons; Charlie Younts and wife Whitney, Matthew Younts and wife Shandra and Austin Nelson; great grandchildren, Conner, Tanner, and Tate Bookout, and Bryce and Fallon Payne; nephews, John R. Ragsdale and wife Judy, and Bill Cassidy and wife Maxine, and a very special friend and neighbor, Pat Ford; and many other relatives and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his mother Bessie Mae and father Charles Sr.; daughter Theresa; 2 sisters, Ruth McDonald and Laurene Ragsdale; and brother William.
Dr. Younts visitation will be at Rosewood Funeral Home on Monday March 31, 2014 from 5-8 p.m.
His service will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at 10 a.m.
Graveside services will follow at Brookside Memorial Park.

Mrs Younts, I am so sorry for the loss of Mr Younts, I love you both dearly, and he was a very special man. I enjoyed talking and helping you two as much as I could here in the office. May God Bless you and your family at this time of grief, but I know he is out of any pain now and is in Heaven with our Loving Father watching over you!!!!! God Bless you All......Amen!
