Carol Ann Jerram
09/14/1939 - 05/02/2023
Carol Ann Jones Jerram peacefully departed this life on the 2nd of May 2023, in Houston, Texas. Carol was born on the 14th of September 1939, in Brooklyn, New York to Rosemary and Warren Jones. She grew up in West Hempstead, NY and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy, attended Molloy College for Women, and received her RN from Mary Immaculate Hospital School of Nursing, Jamaica, NY in September 1962. In her yearbook, next to her picture, it read "Jonesy - vivacious, Pepsodent smile, cigarette and a cup of coffee".
Carol married Bill Jerram on the 9th of May 1964, and they began their lifetime journey of love on Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico. After three years in Puerto Rico, they returned to New York until June of 1971 when Shell Oil Company moved their Corporate Headquarters to Houston Texas. Carol raised three children while staying at home and working as a nurse on the weekends. She loved her nursing profession and after raising her family worked as an Intensive Care RN full time until she retired in 1999 from Houston Northwest Medical Center.
Carol cherished time with her children and grandchildren and always looked forward to the next family gathering. She was the ultimate dog lover and adored the family pets over the years. In addition, Carol enjoyed her vast friendships with fellow nurses, researching her family tree, following baseball – which started with her favorite player, Duke Snider, of the Brooklyn Dodgers - relaxing on a beach, and savoring a glass of white wine at the end of the day.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her devoted husband Bill of 58 years and her loving children Maureen Epstein and her husband Dave of Cherry Hill, NJ, Kate Joyce and her husband Joe of Bellaire, TX and Bill Jr. and his wife Gina of Austin, TX and her dear grandchildren Aidan, Hannah, Caroline, Michael, Ava, and Luke. Also surviving is her beloved brother, Frank and his wife Gail of Darien, Connecticut and their children Chris and Martha.
The family is grateful to all extended family, countless friends, fellow nurses, and doctors who enriched Carol's life. The family also wishes to express thanks and appreciation for the loving care Carol received from all the staff at the Eagles Trace Bayou Vista community, with a special thank you to her primary caregiver, Ava.
The family will honor Carol during a memorial mass to be offered at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 3rd of June 2023, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road in Houston, where Rev. Wayne W. Wilkerson, Pastor will celebrate.
At a later date, the family will gather for a private inurnment at Houston National Cemetery.
