Carol Turboff Obituary

On September 10, 2006, CAROL TURBOFF passed away in Houston, Texas. She was born in Troy, New York, on April 2, 1924, to Tillie and Charles Blum. She married Harold Turboff on August 27, 1944, in Houston, Texas. She actively supported numerous religious and philanthropic organizations, including: Hadassah, State of Israel Bonds, Seven Acres Jewish Home, Jewish Regional Children's Services, The Lubavitch Center, The Hebrew Academy of Houston, The Emery-Weiner School, The Hadassah Hospital, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She is survived by her children, Dr. Sharon and M. Marvin Katz, Dr. Janis and Elias Zinn, Jerald and Denise Turboff, Phillip and Lisa Turboff, and Ronald Turboff; her grandchildren, Kenneth and Dana Yudovich Katz, Drs. Lauren Katz and Joel Rubenstein, Karen and Dr. James Feldman, Alexandra and Jordan Turboff, Andrew and Audrey Zinn, Cameron, Molly and Harold Meier Turboff; and her great-grandchildren, Rachel and Josephine Feldman, David Katz, and Hannah L. Rubenstein. The family would like to acknowledge the kindness and care provided to Carol Turboff during her final months by the following people: Jacqueline Emmanuel, Benicia Locure, Iverlyn Patterson, Endrika White, and Ruth White. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 11, 2006, at Congregation Beth Yeshurun, 4525 Beechnut Street, with interment immediately there-after at Beth Yeshurun, Allen Parkway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the fmily requests that contributions be sent to The Israel Emergency Fund c/o The Jewish Federation of Houston, The Harold and Carol Turboff Endowment Fund at Emery-Weiner School, The Harold and Carol Turboff Fund at The Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel (c/o Houston Chapter of Hadassah), or the charity of your choice.
