Chapley Mabe Applebe, 71, peacefully passed away on November 2, 2025. Born in Jennings, Louisiana, Mabe moved to La Porte in 1963 and later earned a B.S. from Trinity College & University.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lyn Beth; parents Edward "Sonny"and Colleen; brothers Russell and Jimmy; and sister-in-law Angie.
He is survived by his son James Applebe IV, daughter-in-law Fiorella Applebe, twin granddaughters James and Nigella, sister Colleen Hicks, Michael "PeeWee" Hicks, step-mother Nancy Applebe, and many loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held November 22, 2025, from 2–4 PM at Clayton Funeral Home in La Porte, TX.
