Cornelia Adams Obituary

Cornelia Ann (Simpson) Adams, 91, peacefully passed away near the midnight hour on June 25, 2014 at her home in Houston, Texas. Born September 9, 1992 in Dallas, Texas to the late Hughie C. Simpson and Hortie Gaynell Harper Simpson, Cornelia and her family moved to Houston in 1935. She graduated from Reagan High School and the Houston Business College. She traversed the globe and lived across continents during the course of her life until she returned to Houston to care for her ailing mother and worked as Chief Administrator at Park Plaza Hospital for many years before retiring. Cornelia was predeceased by her brother, Hughie Cal Simpson, Jr., with whom she lived for nearly three decades prior to his death. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Betty Dodd and her grandchildren, Kevin Dodd and Crystal Dodd Jackson and her husband Joshua Jackson, great-grandchild Olivia Jackson; Cornelia also is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and John Floyd, and her grandchildren David Floyd and Alan Floyd, as well as her nephew, Greg Simpson. The family wishes to thank each of her long time caregivers, Maria Vargas, Leticia Lopez and Clara Gonzales for their love in making Cornelia's final days so comfortable. There will be no memorial service.
