Daniel Janish Obituary

DANIEL FRANK JANISH passed away Saturday, September 16th, 2006, in St. Luke's Hospital. Daniel was born in Fayetteville, Texas on August 3rd, 1929, to Frank Janish and Theresa Klimek Janish. He served in the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Alaska. When he came back home he married Aurelia Wilde at St. Peter & Paul Church in Frelsburg, Texas on April 26, 1954. They lived in Houston for over 52 years and attended All Saints Catholic Church. He worked in various workshops. He was superintendent of the woodworking mill when building Astoworld Park, Astrodome Hotel and Astrodome. He was a skilled craftsman. In 1973 he opened his own business called Dan's Custom Woodworking Inc. As his three sons were growing up they learned the trade and they all worked with him and his wife takes care of the books. They will carry on the business. He loved to go fishing, Saltwater and Freshwater it was his favorite outdoor activity. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Johnny Janish. He is survived by his wife, Aurelia Janish; sons, Tim Janish and wife, Dorothy, Larry Janish and wife, Laurie, Joe Janish and wife, Lorie; grandchildren, Justin Janish, Twins, Stephanie and Tiffany Janish, Heather and Donovan Janish; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Janish. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Tuesday, September 19th, 2006, in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77008 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, September 20th, 2006, at All Saints Catholic Church, 215 E. 10th Street, Houston, Texas 77008. Serving as pallbearers will be Grandson, Justin Janish; Nephews, John Janish, Don Woltmann, Ron Woltmann, David Wilde and Ronnie Land. Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077.
