Dear Wonderful Deana,
I just now learned of your passing and through my tears I type, recalling our brief but fun filled friendship through the Houston Orchid Society. Although I moved to Florida three years ago you were never far from my thoughts. You were truly an amazing lady with such a sense of humor and your "I can do it all" attitude was so inspiring. Having you and CL participate in our wedding with Father Ted at the chapel at St. Thomas was a privilege and made Gerry and me feel so special. We loved our dinner parties and just being in your presence was always such fun. I cannot believe you have left us. Please know how much I loved you and now my thoughts, recollections and prayers will have to suffice.
Love to you Dear Deana!

Deana, family and friends,
You come across people in your life that you meet, get to know, share some stories and a few meals and they are woven into your life. Deana is one of those people. Her spirit, her laugh, her determination are just a few of the things I remember most. I learned about the "evil eye", how to deal with customers in the travel world. I now prayer for Rachel and her sweet child and her other "children" she has left to finish what she has started. Deana I will not be in Houston Saturday but I will be doing something for those less fortunate so I know you will give me a pass ............this time! Love ya Deana and miss you.

Ah, Cardini! You just couldn't live without C. L. You were determined to join him. You were truly a delight to be with. Our trip to MEX to have an original Ceasar salad in Caesar Cardini's rentaurant. The trip to San Simeon to see your uncle's magnificent sculptures. Deanna, your friends and family will miss you but your infectous laugh will forever make me smile. Lady, you are missed already!

I first met Deana in 1968 when she worked at EAL and I started at KLM. She has been an inspiration to all. We pray for Deana, CL and now particularly Rachel, her daughter and Buck, her grandson that they live on with Deana and CL's guidance and love.

Dearest Deana, your life was a whirlwind of laughter, chuztpa, calculating, dreaming, bullying and loving. You brought so many different worlds together - this was one of your many unique gifts. You were open to the world and all the mashiga strays you collected in your flock. We all loved you, respected and admired you. Thank you for giving so much of yourself and I trust this next journey is every bit as meaningful and wonderous as the last. Much love to you dear Deana

Deana, you will forever be in my Heart. Thank you for giving this 20 yr old single mom a chance. You taught me so much and gave me opportunities only a girl could dream of. Thank you for the wonderful Laughs, Memories, and Italian Food. I will miss your Barbara Walters interviews. You were remarkable even til your last days, even though you were weak you still wanted to know how "I" was doing. So it's only right for me to ask you, "So tell me Deana Roberts, How is Heaven?"

I will always remember your laughter, your spirit, and most of all your compassion. With your help and light, you helped mold me from a naive recent college grad into a confident, passionate citizen of the world. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to know you, CL, Rachel and Troy and for all you have done to make an impact in my life and the world.
