Debbie Yokum Obituary

DEBBIE YOKUM was called by our Lord to heaven on February 14, 2009 at the young age of 63 just two months from her 64th birthday. Born April 12, 1945 in Ossining, New York, to Mary and Arthur Brown and they later relocated to Bellaire, TX. Forty six years ago she married William F. Yokum, Jr. and they raised two children Mary and Michael Yokum. She enjoyed living in both Houston and San Antonio. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Arthur and her brother, A.J. Brown, Jr. Our Debbie, had a full life, one of good times and bad times as all of us do. She always had a smile and something nice to say to everyone she met. She is survived by her husband, Bill, two children Mary and Michael, and five grandchildren. She lived these last years dedicated to her five grandchildren, Mary's children Trey and Taylor Tuma, and Amanda Morris live in San Antonio and Michael's and Erica's children Brett and Shane live in Victoria. There will truly be a void in the lives of her family and the people she has touched over the years. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. Visitation will be at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with the Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. A procession will depart the funeral home for interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. After the services there will be snacks and drinks served at Debbie's home. Colonial Funeral Home 625 Kitty Hawk Rd Universal City, Texas 78148 (210)658-7037

Bill: I was very sorry to hear of Debbie's passing. She was always nice to me and fun to be around. It was good having her work with us at Pantene in San Antonio for those few years.

To the greatest mom on earth. You always had a way of making us laugh. You have a heart of gold and always have nice things to say about everyone. We know you will still be watching over us to make sure we are alright. Thanks for everything you have done to make me what I am today. We all love you and we will miss you.
