Merry Christmas in Heaven Derrek.
We all miss you and Grandpa so very much. That song, 'who would you be today", was written for the young like you. A beautiful life that ended too soon. I no longer fear death like I did before losing you. I know that you are waiting for me. That is God's promise to us.
Months after you were gone, I was still so very angry with God. One late night while I was driving home from work, I heard Jesus speak to my heart. He and asked me, "Do you think you loved him more than me"? He asked me this twice. Then I had this peace come over me. This warm comfort I had not felt in months. And I knew. I knew you were in his loving arms and in his home. A home he built for us.
I love you like my own and have from the moment you were born. I still do. I hold on to the last time we saw each other. When you kissed me goodbye on my cheek Christmas night then walked out the door with your friends. You always had so many friends.

Tomorrow will be 10 years since you went to Heaven. I still miss you everyday and I continue to wonder at all you would have become.
