Diane Pottorf Obituary

Diane Pottorf
09/18/1940 - 04/16/2024
Diane Joy Pottorf was born on September 18, 1940 to Irene Gertrude and Wilbur George (Sox) Sutter in St. Paul, Minnesota. The family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1952 where she continued her education and graduated from the University of Colorado School of Nursing. She was introduced to Bill Pottorf by mutual friends who thought they might make a classic figure skater - hockey player match. They did and the couple married in 1963. After moving to Houston, Texas in 1970, Diane took great interest in her children's activities (which of course included skating), while also working at Memorial City Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She finished her career at Home Health Resources. Diane is survived by her husband and two children, Trevor and Shelly. Bill and Diane's sixty-one year marriage was filled with unwavering love for one another. They were partners in life and remained devoted to one another. At Diane's request there will be no services. In her memory, she instead asks that you take a friend to lunch and buy somebody an unexpected gift.

I appreciated her welcoming me to her home for thanksgiving egg rolls after my husband passed away. I´ll remember her smile and kindness.
