Dominic Mancuso Obituary

Dominic Vincent Mancuso beloved husband, father, uncle and friend died peacefully on February 17, 2012, at the age of 84. Dominic was born in San Francisco on January 19, 1928 to James and Victoria Mancuso. His earliest childhood memory was helping his father make wine by stomping grapes. He attended Mission High School. Dom served in the Navy 1946-1947. He attended City College of San Francisco where he studied electronics. Dom worked for Shell Oil for 33 years.
Dom was a life long tennis and chess player. In 1994 in Spring Branch he started a chess club where he taught and played chess. They were the chess-nuts. He was a capable auto mechanic and enjoyed the challenge of fixing, tooling and building. Dom was fascinated by all things computer. (He worked on Shell's first jumbo computers). He was a practiced photographer and developed his own pictures. He had many other hobbies and interests.
Dominic will be missed by his daughter Susan Lynn, son Robert Mancuso, nieces Roseanne Mussati, Diane Forte, Jeanine Antone, Linda Lunden and his brother-in-law Ken Riner. He was preceded in death by Patricia, his wife of 53 years, his parents, his brother Vincent, his sisters Julia and Victoria and his nephew Steve.
The Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 25 at 12:00 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 10688 Shadow Wood, immediately followed by a reception at the church hall.

Our Uncle Dom is now an iconic icon for the ages. He was a throw back to a time when men feared God, his word and hand shake were gold, the love of his life was the light in his eye.
As he walked upon the field of life he fulfilled his purpose by giving 100% of himself to the service to others. Upon the same field darkness gathered and his dream was done, he bowed as we gave him his final cheer.
But thru the nite there shines a light beyond the silent hill as Uncle Dom is now in the presence of our Saviour Christ Jesus, where he hears the words "Well done thou great and faithful servant" and with that he finds his rest at last.

Hi, Robert,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I did not know your father, but when I read his obituary I realized where you received the traits you have that make me like you as a person and a friend. You're in my thoughts. I'll call you next week to talk. Peace.
