Donna Koska Obituary

Donna Koska
11/08/1948 - 08/19/2023
Koska, Donna L.

(nee Maniscalco), born November 8, 1948, went to her final rest Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Houston, Texas, following a long illness. Preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Dolores Maniscalco; survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Ronald P. Koska; sons Steven (Camille) and Jeremy Koska; grandchildren Amanda Butterworth (Jeff); Archer, Odis and Jesse Koska; and brothers Ron (Theresa) and Ned (Linda) Maniscalco.
Born in St. Louis, Donna attended Rosati-Kain High School, where she made lifelong friendships. In the early 1970s Donna moved to Texas, where she met and eventually married Ron Koska. Partners in business as well as in life, Donna and Ron grew their commercial food sales operation into a multimillion-dollar company with offices throughout Texas.
Though she had postponed her college education, Donna retained her love for learning, ultimately earning a degree with honors from the University of St. Thomas in Houston while maintaining a full work schedule and remaining involved in church and community activities. She loved travel, the theater, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Donna will be remembered as a woman of keen intelligence, deep faith, great inner strength and vast reservoirs of caring and compassion. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Elham Abbasi and her husband, Dr. Roham Darvishi, of the North Houston Cancer Clinics; the Three Oaks Hospice team; and the many friends who brought comfort to Donna in her final weeks.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023, 11:00 a.m. CDT at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 5019 Sam Houston Avenue, Huntsville, Texas 77340. Private burial, Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston. Donations requested to World Central Kitchen (wck.org), The Carter Center (cartercenter.org), or a charity of one's choice.

Ron, so, so sorry to hear about Donna. I had the pleasure, for a couple of years, to cut y´all´s hair at my little Heights Barber Shop, near your business. I was searching for another friend and came across her obit. My husband died two years back with a heart attack two years, after a stroke in 2015. Then in 2018 I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. Had Whipple surgery and got to be one of the 7% that live.
Sorry for all the stories I just don´t know what to say about Donna except she was a wonderful, beautiful person. I always loved our talks while I did her hair, now retired. Please take care and enjoy your Family.

Donna and I were in the same class from Corpus Christi through Rosati Kain. We took 3 city buses to get back home to Jennings from RK. In our freshman year we talked about our first RK report cards on the Natural Bridge Bus. She inspired me to study. Thank you Donna, may you rest in peace.
