Edwin Philipp Marx
1923-2015
Edwin Philipp Marx died on February 7, 2015, in Houston, Texas. He was born on February 15, 1923, in New York City, and lived in River Edge, NJ, the Philippines, Venezuela, and New York City before settling in Houston. He was the son of the late Philipp R. Marx and Erna R. Marx. He is preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Lanius. He is survived by a niece, Lorraine Hamlin, and a nephew, Victor Lanius, and several cousins.
He was a graduate of Lehigh University class of 1944. He then served in the air branch of the U.S. Navy in W.W.II as instructor in air borne radio/radio operations. He was an Emeritus Members of both the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He was a member of Bering Memorial United Methodist Church. His earthly remains will be cremated and buried in The MARX family plot located in the Hackensack New Jersey Cemetery. His spirit will join all those who predeceased him. A celebration in Memory of his Life is being planned.

Ed was a real gentleman. I met him on the Silversea cruise line while we were both Gentlemen hosts. The ladies enjoyed his demeanor and his cha cha. He will be missed.
