EFFIE LEE HUKILL COMPTON of Houston, Tx passed away on December 30, 2017 at the age of 92. A visitation will be held on January 4, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine. Graveside services will immediately follow with Richard Compton offering words of Scripture. Effie was born on April 18, 1925 in Decatur, Tx. She graduated high school in Gober, Tx. She moved to Wichita Falls, Tx where she met her husband to be and followed him to Galveston. She enjoyed her friends and family and playing Bridge with any of them who were available. She was very loving and the sweetest person. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shade Ellis Compton; her son, William Edward Compton; her granddaughter, Melissa Yvonne Reno; her Mother and Dad, Mit and Elsie Hukill, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Surviving are daughter Jimmie and husband Lewis Verlander; Son, Charles Mitchell and wife Kathy Compton; Son, Richard Compton who devoted his time to taking care of her for years; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
