Elizabeth Hagelman Obituary
ELIZABETH DRISLER SLOAN HAGELMAN, beloved wife, devoted mother, and adored grandmother, died Saturday, February 2, 2002 in Georgetown. Born in Brooklyn, New York on June 20, 1919, she followed her husband to Austin, Texas in 1950. Together they raised a family in Austin, Houston, and Beaumont, Texas as well as Toledo, Ohio and DeKalb, Illinois. They returned to The Woodlands, Texas in 1987. She moved to Geogetown,Texas after the death of her husband. Wherever she went, she was active in her church working and establishing Church libraries and Episcopal Churchwomen groups. Elizabeth also established Book Clubs with friends and neighbors who loved reading and people, as much as she did. She was a member of the Daniel Coleman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles W. Hagelman Jr. parents, Russell and Lucy Sloan; her parents-in-law Charles and Anna Hagelman her brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Eleanor Sloan and her brother, John Sloan. She is survived by her children, son, C.W.T. Hagelman III of Arlington, Virginia; son, John F.H.Hagelman of Houston; daughter, Lucyann Hagelman Ollier and son, Gerald L. Ollier of Austin; grandchildren, L. Theodore Ollier of San Marcos, Christopher C.W. and Sarah Davis Ollier of Austin; sister, Jessie V. Sloan of York, Maine; brother and sister-in-law, Rudolph and Rebecca Hagelman of Austin; sister-in-law, Barbara Sloan of Hackettstown, New Jersey numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as wonderful friends and neighbors. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at the Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown and a Holy Communion Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2002 in the Golding Chapel at Christ Church Cathedral in Houston. Inurnment services will follow at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Donations may be made to the ECW of Grace Episcopal Church of which she was founder and first president, the Charles W.
