I, too, was a student at Ross Sterling. Although I was not one of Mrs. Lay's students, I remember that she was thought of fondly by those she taught.
To her family, to those that loved her and especially to Mary, I extend my sincere condolences. Melinda Howe Poulter (Ross Sterling, 1973)

My parents, Bob and Betty Ottosen, lived next door to Archie and Elizabeth for many years. They thoroughly enjoyed their neighbors and now they are all together again in heaven.
You have beautiful memories of your parents and I pray those memories will sustain you all.

Mrs. Lay was my English teacher at Ross Sterling, and I never forgot her instructions. After reading this obit, I wish I had known her on a personal level, not just as a teacher. This is a wonderful, loving tribute to her, and she would have been proud of whomever wrote this. To her family, may God bring you peace during this of your life.

I too was a student of Mrs. Lay at Ross Sterling and remember her as a patient person who taught with passion. Tears formed as I read her obit and know she was truly loved. I can only hope my life/passing is as graceful.
Condolences to her family.

Even though I never had her for English at Sterling, she was a smiling face I saw there every day. As my dear friend's mother, I got to know her on a more personal level than just at school. She was a beautiful, gentle soul & she remained so always.
