Dear Buntings,
No other teacher made more an impact on my love of history than Emory. As a history professor, I'll remember her well. Her name is the one in my dissertation's dedication.

Dear Bunting Family,
I also knew Emory as Miss Kelley. She taught the first and last 9th grade class at Spring Woods Jr. High and I had the honor of not just being taught by her, but by being inspired, guided, and cared for by her. I have always, even to this day, called her my very favorite teacher. My prayers are with the family at this sad time, but I am grateful to see that we will all be together again some day. May God be with you during these trying days.

Dear Jim and the Bunting family-
My deepest condolences on the loss of Mrs. Bunting. Jim and I were partners at Eckerd at the time of her stroke. I had failed to keep up over the years, and was unaware of her cancer diagnosis.I always admired your strong family unit -even from across the country. I know that GOD and family will sustain you in this difficult time. Please know that you all are in my thoughts.

I just wanted to write what a positive influence Mrs. Bunting was in my life, and that even though I hadn't seen her in years, her passing still saddens me. She always put a smile on my face and it was a pleasure being one of her students.

Dear Jim, Stephen and Anne,
As I write this I hear Emory's laugh. I remember her voice and her laughter providing the "soundtrack" to so many happy occasions. Growing up, Emory's presence meant that we were going to have fun! I have benefitted from and will always treasure the gift of Emory's wisdom, her gracious presence and her generosity. She truly lived life with a heart wide open.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
Blessings to you all,
Dwight King

"Miss Kelley," as I knew her, was a superb teacher and probably the most memorable teacher of my years through the Spring Branch Schools. I am so sorry to read of her difficult years, but I am sure she met them with grace.

I was very sorry to receive Jim's call and learn of Emory's death. I know she had stuggled valiently for many years following her stroke, but always had a smile and a positive attitude for everyone, except maybe Democrats! She wasn't afraid to speak her mind and you always knew where she stood, but she had a good heart and loved her family very much. My warmest regards and wishes to Jim and family.

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Bunting's family. Mrs. Bunting was my 7th and 8th grade history teacher at Spring Forest Junior High in the mid 80s. I fondly remember her introducing her students to many of the great characters instrumental in shaping Texas' history and celebrating "Civil War Day" in period costume.

To the Bunting Family and my sister-in-law Phyllis,
May the Lord bless you, keep you all, and comfort you at this time of saddness. I felt as though I knew Emory from the way Phyllis would tell loving and endearing stories of their times together. I know that she was loved deeply by Phyllis and I pray that the Lord provide you all with loving memories. Please know that she is resting in peace with no more pain.
