Nancy Bunting Nashville - Nancy Bunn Bunting, was 90 Years YOUNG!! She was the daughter of Bunn Arrington Bunting and Daisy Freeman Bunting, the sister of Arthur Freeman Bunting and his wife Vivian Langley Bunting. Nancy was born at home in the Griffins township of Nash County, a lifelong member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, a coworker and friend to many in the Raleigh area, and of course the adoring aunt of tons of nieces and nephews who adored her back. Nancy graduated from Nashville High School Class of 1953, and furthered her education at Meredith College. After graduating in 1957 from college, she was hired immediately by Dr. Fails (she liked to brag that she was his first hire at the now nationwide firm of FMI!) at his new accounting firm off Hillsboro St. in Raleigh right across from NC State. She was mentored by her firm as she took classes to obtain her CPA license. In 1971, she realized this dream, and continued to work with FMI while starting her own firm, Nancy Bunn Bunting CPA. Nancy never married, no children of her own, she practically lived at the office, developing special relationships with many lifelong friends as coworkers, clients, and acquaintances. Everybody loved Nancy, and they will all miss her. The nieces and nephews who adored her survive her now, and are thankful for all the special times that Nancy took from her work schedule to show up at family functions, dance recitals, military graduations, high school and college graduations, and endless ball games and concerts. Fancy Nancy, Aunt Antsy, or just Nancy. She was the "cool" aunt, one of a kind that we will never forget. Left to remember her are Libby and Dean Caviness of Nashville, Lynne and James Taylor of Nashville, and Art and Catherine Bunting of
Stafford, VA., Heath (Lisa), Lyndsey (Thomas), Brandon, Lauren (Tyler), DJ, Abby, Gracey (Noah), and now the next generation of Nancy lovers, Presley and Mason. The family would like to say a special thank you to Scott Ajac, who worked for her for 45 years and is now the owner and carries on her legacy of all things CPA-ish, at Scott Ajac, CPA in Raleigh. The Ajac family has treated Nancy as their own, and when she officially retired in 2019, she could not leave them just yet, working a couple more years for Scott before finally returning to her home in Nash County in 2021. When Nancy was not with our families in her off time, she was visiting relatives in the community, as she traveled back to Nash County every weekend that she could to see them and to attend church at Philadelphia Baptist. She rocked the business world in Raleigh for 65 years, almost unheard of for a woman in her era, but she never forgot those in our community. It is there that we will say our last goodbyes to her at the below service. You are welcomed to join us as we do. We are thankful that we have the hope of seeing Nancy again because we know Jesus as Christ and Savior. This is the most important decision anyone can ever make, and we hope that you will consider this decision too.
