"Be still and know that I am God". I remember Mr. Bell. He's the one who hired me at TSU many years ago. He's an unforgettable character. Affable.

Mr. Bell was a joy of joy for many of the young students entering Texas Southern Univ.in 1970, as was I, a young melancholy, but cheerful, lad from Georgia who ventured to Texas to attend TSU and its law school. He was a man of God who inspired me to seek good in all things. I am the better person I am because of the wise counseling imparted to me by him. He is indeed the treasure we'll meet on the other side of the river. Go you mighty force. The world is so much better now that you were here to grace our lives. Thanks for the Glow.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
