My prayers are with Mr. Henry's family. Mr. Henry was my teacher at JY High School. A great soul has departed from among us and he will be missed. He was a great teacher, loved the students and we loved him. To the Family, may God give you strength as you go through this journey and I know he will see you through.

I knew him as my JY high school science teacher: a dapper dresser, organized, serious, and structured. He taught well, but he also showed the ability to smile. Oh, and he had a great laugh when a student said something funny! He was a man of integrity and every student knew exactly where the line was drawn between teacher and students. I only recently learned that I taught Sunday School with his daughter and 2 of his grandchildren were in my Sunday School class.
To the family, I offer my sincere and heartfelt sympathy. What a legacy he left!

My prayer of comfort to the family of my favorite science teacher at JY. He was and inspiration to all that I knew, who had the opportunity to be a part of his class. We all have fond memories, especially trying to duplicate his illustrations of science art. I appreciated his friendship and support from him and Soror Melba Henry during the years . God Bless.

From my hospital bed I am reading of Forest's transition. I am saddened. I will always remember Forest and Melba as the model couple, with a beautiful family. Truely an extended example of parenting our village. Felicia and I, (along with Dale and Cynthia) shared the fondest unforgettable childhood times on Perkins Street, and at the Henry's Residence!
Thanks for all the memories! I love you!
Here's hoping that all the prayers lifted up will comfort you during this time, and in the days ahead.

Pushing Forward
Do the thing that's hard to do
The one your heart is drawn unto
And in the pinch
You'll find the inch
Of growing and knowing
To get you through.
