On the anniversary of Gary's death I realize that Gary's life made a good impression on all of us. As a result his memories still remain with us in our thoughts. The pictures helped revive those memories. There is good reason for us to go forward in our lives with vigor and enthusiasm. That is the way that Gary would want us to continue with our remaining days of life.

Like many of the others at Kellogg and KBR, I worked with Gary for almost all of the time he spent there. We worked together on a lot of projects and he was always one of the hardest workers on the project. He will be missed by all of his friends throughout the engineering community.

I worked with Gary on my first project at Mustang in 2004. He was a joy to work with, he had so many good and interesting stories, he was a good friend. He taught me allot about design as I helped him with his computer skills. Although I only worked with Gary for a year he definitley made an impression .....we will miss you Gary!

Barbara,
Gary and I were very good friends during the years that he worked at M.W. Kellogg. We kept in touch after he left Kellogg and the last time that I spoke with him was when he was at Mustang. I always enjoyed talking with him about various items such as football, politics, and family. I will miss the phone conversations that we have had in the past. He was a true family man. My sympathies are with you and your family. I certainly understand what you are going thru because I lost my wife this past March.

Barbara,
I worked with Gary for a long time at KBR. He was a fine man and knew what he was doing. He will be sorely missed but not forgotten. Myprayers are with you and your family.

It was an honor to have worked with him.

It's been a very long time, but I worked with Gary at KBR back in the 90's. He was a great person. I am truly sorry for your loss...

Dear Barbara.
Gary's passing has been a horrible loss for so many friends. I can only say no one has influenced me as much as he has. As you know, we met at work in 1975 and continued our association with different companies for 33 years until the last one this year. Those years of close communication produced a level of friendship that only few people ever experience. Please know that Gary will be missed as only a best friend can be.

Mr. Shinall's daughter, Karla, and I have been friends for over 20 years. When I was about 19 years old, Mr. Shinall changed my life. He encouraged me to enroll in college. Although, it took me about 20 years of attending, on and off, to finally figure out what I was good at and to earn a degree, this past April, I finally did it. I never did tell him how much it meant to me that he believed in me so much. If it had not been for him, I really do not know that I would have even tried. Maybe Mr. Shinall and my Mother can now meet each other and she can thank him for me for his confidence in me and his encouragement, as I know that she is my Angel in Heaven watching over me and has been for the past 21 years.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May your memories of that wonderful man bring you comfort.

Barbara
I met Gary at Fluor almost 30 years ago and considered him a true friend. Although we went in different directions we managed to stay in touch and I always enjoyed it when we could get together at his shop or at his place in the country and talk about work, politics, music and football (his beloved Razorbacks, of course!) Gary always had a sharp wit and always had a joke to tell, even as recently as a couple of weeks ago when I saw him last. Gary was obviously very proud of his family as he always had a story to tell about Karla or Alex and more recently his grandkids Max and Sarah. I know he also loved you very much and appreciated the care you gave him during his illness.
I will miss him a lot.

Dear Barbara,
It was an honor for me to meet you and Gary back in February and be allowed to make several visits, Gary always gave me smiles and laughs and I enjoyed every minute spent with both of you. His struggles are over and may he now rest in peace.Your love, patience, and understanding during his progressive illness was remarkable, and Gary knew how much you loved him...May GOD comfort all of the family and friends that knew Gary....he will be missed !! Sincerely, Cathy Thomas, RN
