George William
Conway of Pasadena passed away November 23 following an extended illness.
He was born in Chester County Pennsylvania on July 1, 1930. He graduated from Parkesburg High School and was an airplane mechanic in the Air Force during the Korean War. In 1952 he married Ruby Cantrell and they had three children. In 1960 he was hired by Philco and began a long employment in the space program. He arrived at the Johnson Space center in 1965, working there until he retired from Ford Aerospace and afterwards Rockwell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby, his parents Harry and Caroline Stoecker Conway of Pennsylvania, brothers Jim, Harry, John, and Charles, and sisters Ruth Tennant, Hazel Marsh, and Doris Mowry. He is survived by his children Carol Landolt (Mike), Randy Conway (Pam) of Indiana, and Tracy Thibodeaux (Jay). He is also survived by his grandchildren Sarah Engelman (Jeremy) of Tennessee, Jay Thibodeaux II (Fiorella) of Austin, Will Conway II (Angel,) Becky, and Tom Conway of Indiana, step grandchildren Amanda Williams (Ronnie) and Alison Landolt, great grandchildren Bethany and Isaac Engelman, Tiffany, Brookelynn, Dresden, and Delilah Conway, Ylla Thibodeaux, and Rown, Caiden, and Logan Williams. In Pennsylvania he is survived by brother Bob (Bobbie) Conway and sister Betty Ellis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday November 30th at Pasadena Funeral Chapel from 5-8:00, and funeral will be Saturday, December 1st at 2:00 at the Grandview Memorial Cemetery on Spencer Highway in Pasadena.
