George Noyes Obituary

George Woolley Noyes, P.E. 87, A native Houstonian died January 22, 2007. He was a 1937 Graduate of San Jacinto High School, and a 1941 Graduate of Texas A&M College, where he received a B.S Degree in Electrical Engineering and commission in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He served in World War II in England, North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. He was honorable discharged in 1946 with the rank of Captain. He began his civilian career with Humble Oil (Exxon) in 1946. He subsequently started his own business (George Noyes & Associates). He taught Electrical Engineering at the University of Houston and continued to consult with many major corporations until retirement at age 72. He was also an instrument rated pilot and member of AOPA. George is survived by his wife of 64 1/2 years, Mary Jeanne Watson, three children Thomas E., Daniel G., and Cynthia J. and four grandchildren, Maverick Welsh, Matthew Welsh, Patrick Noyes, and Jennifer Noyes. He was pre-deceased by his parents, George W. and Daisy Morris Noyes and beloved daughter, Kathy Welsh. Interment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery with a Memorial Service at St. Martin's Episcopal Church ( The Old Church ), 717 Sage Road on Friday, January 26th at 2:00pm.
