Gordon,
Im so saddened that you are gone. I enjoyed your sense of humor and positive out look on life. I will remember all our laughs about that terrible barium cocktail...the cocktail that had a part in our friendship. I still have ur number stored in my phone cant come to erase it. Rest peacefully xo

My deepest sympathies to the family of Gordon Baker. My heart goes out to you all as I know what a great man you have lost.
I've worked with Bake for 27 years and loved every minute of our interactions. His stories, his love for his family and his business knowledge were all larger than life. I had often thought throughout the years that Bake would have made an excellent teacher. It was only a couple of years ago that it struck me that Bake IS a teacher... He's taught us all so much and I am so very thankful to have been one of his pupils.

Michele and family.. Thinking of you often. Your father touched a great deal of lives. My brother always liked hanging with Goron at Christmas time! :) . Please let the Quinns know if there is anything We can do for you here in Kingwood. I will miss talking to him at those special events.

Gordon was a friend and a consumate professional that I had the distinct pleasure of working with. He set the bench mark for those that aspired to follow his lead, and always was willing to coach. I retired in March 2011 and kept up with Gordon through email. Although he loved his work he often bragged of his family. Gordie had a likeability factor that was evidenced by his sucessful and illustrious career. I am a better person for having known him. I received a Happy New Year Greeting from Gordon on 1-2-2013, so I was shocked to hear of his passing. We were vacationing so that I only found out about his passing today(Sunday1-13--2013), otherwise I would have tried to make his service. My thoughts go out to his family and many friends. We have known Gordon and Charlene since our youngest daughters were in kindergarten together, and are still friends to this day. He was always a gentle and kind person who made us feel special every time we saw them. We are saddened by this great loss to his family, friends and to our youngest daughter, who was always welcomed into their home and loved by this great couple. Our deepest sympathies to all of this wonderful family. Jim & Sharon Aswell

To Charlene and Gordon's entire family
I was very saddened to hear the news of Gordon's death. He has been a true friend to me for 30 years and has taught me so much. Indeed I learned a lot from him about Garlock but also about living life to the fullest. His optimism in the face of illness and adversity was truly brave. His humor was always there and always warm. I will miss his emails and his laugh and friendship. Rest in peace my friend!

To Gordon Baker's Family,
My condolences and sympathy. May you gain strength from knowing how many lives Gordon touched and how many people loved him. When I was a young Garlock salesman on the road, Gordon would call Cheryl at night to make sure she was safe and to let her know she could call him if anything came up. He was truely one of the finest people I have ever met. I will miss him.

Uncle Gordon was a big influence in my life. I have early memories of him and Charlene when they were first married and they were so cute. I looked up to them then and that continued throughout my life. I was lucky to live in Tulsa and be close to them for awhile. And then Gordon was soooo good about keeping in contact. He amazed me with the way he kept up with everyone and shared through emails. He was always so positive. Charlene and the girls have such good memories and the legacy from Uncle Gordon will live forever. The grandkids will hear about him in all the family stories, how much fun, how thoughtful and full of life. He will be missed!!

It was an honor and privilege to have known Gordy over my 42 years with Garlock. There never was a more dedicated, respectful and wonderful gentleman with a wonderful sense of humor. Not only did he coach many of us about our industry .... some of us were lucky enough to learn about spelunking along the way! God Bless him and all that knew him!

Many accolades can be attributed to Gordon Baker, more than words are capable of demonstrating. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to know Gordon professionally and personally. In his work Gordon Baker created a standard that most can only aspire to achieve. In the 31 years I knew Gordon he was always pleasant and would greet everyone he met with a smile. Working with Gordon was a privilege that I was fortunate enough to enjoy.
Gordon Baker was my friend and I will miss him.

As a young Garlocker many years ago I was told who to get close with and use for advice in any business situation or technical matter, "Bake" was at the top of that list. Gordon always made whoever he was talking to feel like they were the most important person in the world, a true talent. I'm a better person for having known "Bake".
Thank you Bake for the advice and informaiton over the years, I always admired you and your professionalism.
May god bless you Gordon, rest in peace Sir.

Gordon was a great guy and will truly be missed. When answering my phone at Garlock, I was always so happy to learn it was Gordon on the other end. I had great admiration for him. He was always so kind and very sharp. I wished I knew a 1/4 of what he knew. He always made me smile. I am lucky to have known such a great person. To Bake's family, you will be in my prayers and he will always be in my heart. Could never forget a guy like Gordon Angus Baker. Kelly Ide

There are a few people that enter our lives with profound impact. Gordon Angus was one of those for me. Bake modeled the way for many of us professionals, but more importantly set an example for how to conduct oneself on all occasions. Gordon was one of the most intelligent, thoughtful, talented and kindest individuals that I ever met. The memories that Bake created run the gamut from managing challenging business situations to teaching my sons to walk on stilts in our backyard in Philadelphia. We captured this latter unique skill on video, and so are reminded of Bake every few years when we break out the family videos.
I am honored that Gordon is memorialized in our family films. I will keep Charlene and the family in my thoughts and prayers in these difficult days, and I will keep Bake forever in my heart; I truly loved this man.
Our sincerest condolences to the family,

A finer human being there never was. Gordon was that true Southern Gentleman often depicted in folk lore, only he was the real deal. I was deeply saddened to hear about his passing and I offer my sincere condolences to Charlene and the girls. I consider myself lucky to have had a buisness relationship with him over the past eighteen years and and honored to have called him my friend. He will be sorely missed, but his legacy will live on in persons such as myself whom he mentored and shared his wealth of knowledge and kindness.

My thoughts and prayers are with Gordon's family. I am so saddened to hear of the passing of a long time friend of 38 years. He was one of the most dedicated, intelligent, and hard working sales people I have ever known, right till the end. More importantly he was a kind, considerate, and very caring individual. I will miss knowing that in the click of a cell phone I could talk to him and he would brighten my day. I know we will all, especially his family and loved ones, miss him terribly. But his memory will live on because Gordie was a real live living legend in life as he surely will be in death. Thanks Gordon Baker for being my friend!

To the Gordon Baker Family,
I always felt this day would come, but with Gordy's record of endurance I thought just maybe it would not. In my four decades in the business world I would rank Gordon as absolutely #1 as a professional sales executive. More importantly he was a fine gentleman of unquestionable integrity sprinkled with a great sense of humor. The many thousands that knew Gordon will miss him dearly.

Although he worked for a company blessed with many outstanding employees, Gordon Baker was always a shining jewel. His work ethic was unmatched, his knowledge unparalleled. "Bake" as he was known, served as a mentor to anyone wise enough to seek his counsel and I cannot count the number of times he helped me over the years. I considered Bake a friend and will miss him always.
