Guy Davis Todd Sr. had a son late in life and named him Guy Jr. for vanity's sake. Not liking the moniker, he quickly gave Jr. the nickname of Skipper, as Sr. was Chief Boatsman's Mate in the Navy during the war. The name eventually shortened to Skip. Skip was the apple of his mother's eye and the pride of his father. Guy Sr. was captain of his unit's baseball team and was well liked by all. He was a large man, grand in stature as well as heart. He was a kind man. He loved his family. He never passed up a person in need. For a brief time Sr. was a motorcycle patrolman in Waco. His father was a Texas Ranger during the Bonnie and Clyde era until the time of his death.
Guy Sr. worked for Bird Kultgen in Waco until he decided to go into business for himself. He went into the service station business and during the last part of his life, his station was located on the Baylor campus. If a student needed money to get home or was in need of some good advise, Guy Sr. was the one many students called upon. After his funeral, people shared their stories about how he helped them. He was a man to be admired.
Guy Jr. strived to emulate his father. He shared his father's love of baseball and cars. He even turned his left foot inwards when he walked just as his dad did until his mother forced him to stop. Adulthood brought Skip the same booming voice that could fill a room and the same sense of humor. He inherited the same stature and the same heart. He too felt the need to help people in distress. If a man is measured by his friends, Skip was the tallest of men. He was a man of purpose and honor. He was indeed his father's son. Skip's son, Michael, is now left with the legacy to carry on the tradition of being everyone's ideal friend and to make his own mark in the world. THE BEAT GOES ON.
I will miss you forever, Skip, just as I miss your father, Guy Sr. and your mother Katherine and just as I miss my precious daughter, Kimber Lee. You are all proprietors of my heart. You fill my heart with pride and will always remain to be my "little bro".

I went to high school with Skip in Waco. Several of us used to hang around his dad's Texaco station in Waco, and we all spent a lot of time working on and talking about our cars and motorcycles. Skip had the ability to make us all laugh to the point where we had trouble stopping. I lost touch with Skip when he was signed to play baseball, even though we have both moved to and lived in Houston the last 25 years. It was an honor to meet his family at Skip's memorial. I will miss knowing that he is around.

As sad as I am at the idea of never seeing Skip again, I am grateful for having the chance to have ever known him. The Lord could have taken him at least three times, before I met him a year ago, and once right after I met him on our way home from the Texas Rally in Austin, last year. I am truly blessed to have known him, if even for a short while. He was a man of few words, but those words counted a great deal, and they usually led me to tears of laughter. I will miss him terribly. Lisa, I am in awe of your strength, and your ability to make us all feel so welcome these last few days. Thank you so much for allowing us the chance to do those little things for you and Michael. You both have opened your home and hearts to all of us at this time, and in doing so, we feel great comfort. Michael, you are a dear sweet person. I am so glad that I have been able to get to know you a little better. You both are in my thoughts and prayers, and you will always be "Mi Familia". Melanie

For all who knew Skip "Big Cat", his loss is certainly tragic. He was a stable and solid mountain of a man on whom you could always depend. My brother, you will be missed by us all. Your time with us, though too short by far, was well spent. You touched many lives and will live on with us all.

I knew Guy "Skip" Todd as "Big Cat" through the Los Carnales Motorcycle Club. I always enjoyed talking with him about computers and website building. He designed the South Houston Chapter website for the club and was a very dedicated LCMC member. He kept the National Board's secretarial duties orginized and as well as putting out the National Newsletter each month. He will be missed by many friends. He was taken too early, but is still with us all in our memory.

Skip was an easy man to love. Although I only knew him for a short period of time, he will be missed greatly. The meetings/functions will not be the same without him there. My prayers will be with his wife, my friend...Lisa...and their son Michael.
