Guy Davis Todd Sr. had a son late in life and named him Guy Jr. for vanity's sake. Not liking the moniker, he quickly gave Jr. the nickname of Skipper, as Sr. was Chief Boatsman's Mate in the Navy during the war. The name eventually shortened to Skip. Skip was the apple of his mother's eye and the pride of his father. Guy Sr. was captain of his unit's baseball team and was well liked by all. He was a large man, grand in stature as well as heart. He was a kind man. He loved his family. ...

God Bless Skip and his family. I was shocked when a friend of mine told me what happened.

I have known Skip for many years.I met him not long after he joined HPD.I believe he was still a rookie when I met him.Over the years we have had contact several times. My sister called me tonight and told me about Skip's death.My thoughts are with his family and friends.HPD has lost a good officer and we all have lost a friend.Skip will be missed.

I went to high school with Skip in Waco. Several of us used to hang around his dad's Texaco station in Waco, and we all spent a lot of time working on and talking about our cars and motorcycles. Skip had the ability to make us all laugh to the point where we had trouble stopping. I lost touch with Skip when he was signed to play baseball, even though we have both moved to and lived in Houston the last 25 years. It was an honor to meet his family at Skip's memorial. I had the pleasure of working undercover with Skip for a short time. He was one hell of a cop and dedicated to our profession. He will be missed by all of us.
