In loving memory of a great Christian man. Mr. Tate was the finest and most patient math teacher at Lamar High School. He was able to explain Algebra so that us students could grasp it and remember it even today. Eureka!, Mr. Tate.

To the Tate Family, I have never met sweeter people in my life. Both Harold and Pauline were such Godly people and it was always such a blessing to be around them. May they rest in peace and may God comfort all those who miss and love them.

All of us who had Mr. Tate for algebra and trig at Lamar High School will remember him as one of our best teachers ever. He was unfailingly cheerful and explained higher math in very clear terms. He was patient and kind to all students. I don't think he ever had any discipline problems in his classroom because we respected him so much. We all knew he was a Christian, and he "walked the walk". When our own sons were struggling with high school math, a Lamar friend (another of his former students) and I were lamenting, "Where is Mr. Tate when we need him?" The skills I learned from him served me well in college and I will always remember him with great fondness.
